Northernpharm-SD Group 2017 Panda Cup International Table tennis Tournament
1. Tournament Overview:
The Northernpharm-SD Group 2017 Panda Cup International Table Tennis Tournament will be held from September 23 – 24, 2017,
this will be a spectacular event for the Canadian table tennis community. It promises to be a rich and rewarding experience for
Canada, China, and other participating countries.
We are thrilled to host this wonderful event, where professional players compete and showcase their world class skills, promote
different culture and encourage the exchange of table tennis sports. This tournament will encourage table tennis enthusiasts,
especially amongst the GTA community, to participate and to make new friends, while creating awareness of active and healthy living.
Our team of organizers has poured tremendous effort and energy into organizing the Panda Cup tournament. This is a
wonderful opportunity for amateur players to test their skills against professionals, and for the curious to learn more
about the sport. This event is unprecedented, and it will surely engrave its footprint into the history of Canadians.
52 teams are participating in this tournament. Most notably, lots of famous players will attend this exciting event. Participants will
have the opportunity to witness and feel the adrenaline in a fierce competition among the professionals. The excitement from both
players and the audience will bring back the popularity of table tennis as one of the most revered sports.
We are honored to have Team CCTTA, Team NJTTC, Team TTCAN , Team Nothern PHarm and other professional teams join in this
tournament. Also joined table tennis teams from numerous Canadian associations such as North, Markham, Beijing, Sichuan, Chongqing,
Shanxi, Gan Su, JiangXi, Anhui, Chengdu, Zigong, etc. And, from University alumni associations such as McMaster, Sichuan University, Harbin
Engineering University, Chongqing University, Chengdu University of Technology, etc. Teams from the Canadian business community will
also compete in this tournament such as WM Wealth, Sunlife, EN Saving, 58FD, etc. Other community or club teams include UESTC,
Polar Naturals. Northwest Wolf, Mississauga Grasshopper , CRH Rocket, etc. We anticipate large crowds, and cheerleading squads with
banners, at this intense tournament
The support from the local government, communities, friends, and entrepreneurs at home and abroad, is essential to the
promotion and growth of this sport. We are honored to have members of the Canadian parliament and members of Ontario
provincial parliament, Markham Parliament join us for the opening and closing ceremony.
The Northernpharm-SD Group 2017 Panda Cup International Table Tennis Tournament has received tremendous support from
Canadian and Chinese entrepreneurs and businesses. It has provided companies with a rare opportunity to present their business
models and their business specialty while engaging each other for further development and growth.
Medals and trophies that will be handed out at the Tournament will be for both table tennis enthusiasts and the professional athletes.
The awards and prizes will motivate all participants to play at their best with passion and confidence. China Consulate in Toronto, business
leaders, and various representatives from Federal, Provincial, and Municipal governments will present awards to the winners.
2. Highlights of the Tournament:
Professional organizers, professional venue, and professional marketing:
Our organizing committee is consisted of professional sport experts and highly experienced personnel in event planning.
The tournament venue is recognized and certified by the International Table Tennis Federation and has all the standard
equipment necessary for a large scale professional competition.
Currently, multiple news media and broadcasting agencies in Canada and China have expressed their interest in
reporting on this tournament.
Large number of participants:
In addition to the 52 teams and 260 player participants, families, friends, hometown association members, alumni association
members, businesses, community cheerleading squads, etc. will attend this tournament as well. The total attendance
is anticipated between 1000 to 1500 people and promises to be one of the largest sports events in the Canadian table tennis
community.
The fierce competition of top ranking athletes will provide the audience with an exciting and unforgettable experience.
Tournament rules strictly enforced by international certified referees:
The Executive Committee has organized a professional tournament schedule, which provides a platform for enthusiasts to
learn from top-ranked players, and to compete with other competitors. This tournament will be a pioneering sports event
in the international sports world.
3.Tournament Dates and Location:
Tournament Dates: September 23-24, 2017
Tournament Location: Pan am Center, 16 Main Street Unionville, Markham, Ontario, Canada.
4. Awards and Prizes
Division super (Professional): First, second, and third place winners will receive $3000, $1500, and $500 respectively. The first
place winner will also receive a Panda Cup trophy with the winner’s name engraved at the bottom. For all other Divisions, A, B, C, D, E,F,
the first, second, and third place winners will receive a grand trophy along with gold, silver, and bronze medals.
5. Souvenirs
The mascot of 2017 Canada Panda Cup Table Tennis Tournament is a panda called Jia Jia. Panda is China’s national treasure.
The mascot’s name comes from repeating the first syllable in the Chinese pronunciation of Canada. Jia Jia symbolizes
the goal to promote Chinese culture and to encourage the exchange of table tennis sports spirit in Canada.

2017 Canada Panda Cup Table Tennis Tournament has received tremendous support from a wide variety of media outlets
in Canada and China.
